Tickets

I don’t want to give my credit card out over the Internet. Can I purchase over the phone or in-person? Yes. You can call Fiction Addiction at 864-675-0540 or stop by the store at 1020A Woodruff Rd (across from Costco) from 10am-6pm Mon-Sat.

Can I buy a ticket the day of the event? No. We must let the restaurant know in advance how many lunches to prepare and so we stop selling tickets a few days before the event. If an event is sold out, though, you may apply for the waiting list in case of any cancellations.

Do I need a physical ticket to get in? No. Just show your ID and we will match you to our list of guests.

Can I buy a ticket for someone else? Yes. Simply indicate in the Comments field during checkout the name of the person who will be using the ticket. They will need to show their ID to be admitted to the event.

I bought a ticket, but now can’t make the event. Can I get a refund? If you contact us at least 5 business days in advance of the event, we can issue you a full refund. Once we have closed ticket sales and told the restaurant how many lunches to make, we are obligated to pay for those lunches, and thus cannot issue a refund past that date. You can, however, let another person use your ticket. Simply contact us and let us know the name of the person who will be using your ticket. You will need to verify your identity as the ticketholder by providing us with the last 4 digits of the credit card used to pay for the ticket.

What is included in the ticket price? The ticket price of $25 includes lunch from a pre-set menu (a vegetarian option is available), a non-alcoholic beverage, and the chance to listen to the featured speaker and participate in a Q&A session and booksigning. Books can be purchased separately at the event or beforehand. Ticketholders will receive a 10% discount if purchasing their books from Fiction Addiction prior to the event.

How many tickets are available for each event? Most of our events will take place at The Lazy Goat, which can accommodate 95 guests. If early demand for the event is strong, we may be able to move the venue to Soby’s, which can accommodate 175 guests.

Why does clicking the link to order tickets take me to a different website? Book Your Lunch ticket sales are handled by Fiction Addiction at their website http://www.fiction-addiction.com.

What happens if you change the event venue after I purchase my ticket? How will I know where to go? We have decided that we will not be moving events around. The original venue will be where the event takes place.

Event Details

Where will Book Your Lunch events be held? For Fall 2009, all Book Your Lunch events will be held in downtown Greenville at  The Lazy Goat a member of the Table 301 restaurant group.

What is the schedule for a Book Your Lunch event? Book Your Lunch events start promptly at noon, so please arrive early so you can be seated ahead of time. We have access to the room beginning at 11:30. At noon, we will introduce the author who will give a 20-minute reading or talk. Then we will open the floor up to questions from the audience for another 20 minutes. Lunch will be served from 12:45-1:30. After lunch, the author will sign books until 2 pm.

What if I’m late to the event? We have access to the event room from 11:30, so we encourage you to arrive early. If the author has already started speaking, you may have to wait until after their presentation to be seated.

What will the author speak about? Some authors will read from their work, others may speak about their recent book and how it came to be or how they became writers.

Can I ask the author a question? Yes. If you have specific questions for the author, you may ask them during the Q&A session or email them to us [link] ahead of time and we will pass them on to the author so that they can address them in their talk.

I’m coming to the event with several friends. Will we be able to sit together? Seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis, so we suggest your arrive early. We have access to the event room beginning at 11:30 am. Please contact the venue to ask about table sizes.

Will I be able to sit at the author’s table? Perhaps. Seats at the author’s table are given out first to our event sponsors. If any additional seats are available, we will contact ticketholders in the order in which they purchased tickets.

Is there free parking? Unfortunately, it’s hard to find free parking in Downtown Greenville during business hours. Click here for a map showing available parking garages.

Food

When will I know the menu for the event? We are working on the menus now and will post them as they are finalized.

Will you have a vegetarian meal? Yes. Every event will include a vegetarian meal option. Please indicate that you would like a vegeterian meal in the Comments box when you purchase your ticket.

I’m not vegetarian, but I have other dietary restrictions. Once, we post the venue & meal, you can contact the restaurant with any specific questions you may have about meal ingredients. The restaurant may not be able to accommodate any changes or special requests, however.

Purchasing Books

Can I bring books to have signed that I did not purchase from Fiction Addiction? Yes, you may, but please keep in mind that Fiction Addiction is the one arranging to bring the authors to Greenville. Please give them your support if you’d like the Book Your Lunch program to continue. Fiction Addiction is offering ticket holders a 10% discount on any of the featured authors books purchased from prior to the event. Books will also be available at list price at the event itself.

How do I get my 10% book discount from Fiction Addiction? You must first purchase an event ticket. At the time you purchase the ticket or anytime between then and the event, if you purchase or pre-pay for any of the featured author’s books from Fiction Addiction you’ll receive a 10% discount. If you wait to purchase until the event, the books will be sold at full list price.

How many books will the author sign? Typically, there will not be a limit on the number of books the author will sign. For large events, though, we may have to introduce a limit. If we do place a limit, we will post it on our site and let all ticketholders know.

Will the author write a personalized inscription in my book? Usually, the author will be happy to personally inscribe a book. In the case of large events, though, time may not permit. If this is the case, we will post this on our site and let all ticketholders know.

I can’t make the Book Your Lunch event or it has already sold out, but I’d still like to get a book personalized by the author. Is this possible? Yes, simply contact Fiction Addiction in advance of the event and prepay for your book(s), indicating what you’d like the author to write. You can then pick your book(s) up from Fiction Addiction at your convenience after the event.

If I wait and buy my books at the event, what payment types will you accept? At the event, we will be able to accept Mastercard, Visa, American Express, Discover, and any debit cards with those logos at the event. We are also happy to accept cash and checks.
